Anya (Amanda x Merwin)  Anya and Karla graduated on 2/23/08 through the Home Training Program. They live in Seattle, Washington and their graduation photo will be posted soon. Anya was raised by Vicki and Family from Winchester, VA and started by Liz from Aldie, VA. |
Julie & Brooke (Nadia x Coast) Brooke's namesake was Brooke Todd from the DC area. He was an artist. As a young man he studied painting in France, then taught at the National Art School in Washington, DC. He designed an insignia for the Air Force during World War 11, and had his own graphic art and design firm until loosing his sight. Joel Ann, his daughter generously donated funds to Guiding Eyes having Brooke named in memory of her father. Julie and Brooke graduated in November 2004 and reside in St. Louis, Mo. Julie enjoys an active lifestyle and having a guide dog who matches her energy and enthusiasm for life. Brooke was raised by Vicki, Jeff and boys from Winchester, VA and was a starter puppy for Kathleen and Phil from Kearneysville, WV. |

Jennifer & Burke (Belle x Neon) Graduated May 2010. Jennifer came to Guiding Eyes from Texas for her first guide dog Burke. Deidre & Charlene (Bella x Evan) Deidre is from Virginia and plans to pursue a Masters degree that will prepare her work in group drug counseling and therapy. Deidre and Charlene graduated in June 2008 through the ACTION program. "Charlene will be a Godsend for independent travel" says Deidre. Charlene was raised by Tricia from Winchester, VA. Charlene was started by Brit Jane from Berkeley Springs, WV. |

David & Elmore (Star x Buzz) David and Elmore graduated on 9/25/04 and reside in Palm Harbor, Florida. Elmore is David's fifth guide dog from Guiding Eyes. David described Elmore as affectionate, extremely curious and very obedient. Elmore was started by Christine, Harvey and Tiffany from Charles Town, WV. |
Paul & Elton (Jill x Isaiah) Paul and Elton graduated on May 2006. Paul is from Kansas. He works for the Area Agency on Aging. Paul is a dog lover, enjoys working with computers, is a voracious reader, loves to travel and enjoys "fine dining." He describes Elton as being affectionate, has lots of energy, a bright mind all his own and enjoys challenges.

Mary & Fable (Lotus x Ambrose) Fable and Mary went through an accelerated program and returned to Kansas prior to the 7-26-03 graduation ceremony. Fable is Mary's sixth guide dog as she has traveled with guide dogs for over 50 years. Mary and Fable will lead an exciting life as Mary walks 17 blocks daily and enjoys keeping busy. Fable was raised by Kathleen and Phil from Kearneysville, WV |
Pawel & Ferd (Iva x Evan) Pawel and Ferd graduated in December 2008 and living in Poland. Pawel is the Director of the University of Warsaw's Office for Persons with Disabilities. He is also a radio journalist conducting a talk show on Catholic radio. He describes Ferd as gentle, sensitive, clever, ready for any challenge. Ferd was raised by Janelle (Catoctin), started by Liz and Doug from Aldie, VA and Kate, Caleb from Winchester, VA. |

Neala and Fergus graduated in May 2009 and live in Pittsburgh, PA. Fergus was raised by Harold and Karen from Berryville, VA and was started by Pat from the Dominion Region. |
Leah & Fletcher (Katrina x Umber) Leah and Fletcher graduated in July 2006. Leah is from Elizabeth City, North Carolina and a Senior at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind. Leah has her eye on working in areas of criminal justice. Her favorite pastimes include reading and horseback riding. Speaking of Fletcher's personality, Leah says he is always willing to work, is a great guide and when it's time, plays as hard as he works. Their bond with each other has become stronger day by day.

Floss Querida x Caruso - birthdate 12/10/08 Lindsay and Floss graduated November 2010 moved to TN. Floss is Lindsay's first guide dog. Lindsay has great plans for her future with Floss by her side. Floss was raised by Kelly and Family from Leesburg , VA , Leslie and Family from Charles Town, WV and Jane from Berkeley Springs, WV .

Treasa & Geneva (August x Merwin)
Treasa is from North Carolina works generating sales for medical software. Treasa and Geneva graduated in May 2008. Treasa says that Geneva brightens her day. She fully expects that Geneva will widen her horizons considerably, enabling her to travel (she has planned a trip to Costa Rica). Geneva was raised by Liz from Aldie, VA and with raisers in Richmond and Prince William Regions.

Harry & Georganne (GDB Bangle x Bandit) Harry and Georganne graduated on 2/23/08. Harry lost his sight about one year ago and has two children. He is now semi-retired and lives with wife Johanna in Pennsylvania, where fishing, hunting, bowling and exercise continue to be an important part of his life. Harry is convinced that Georganne, his playful but serious German shepherd Guiding Eyes dog, is indeed the best means for him to re-establish his independence. Georganne was raised by Cathy and Les from Richmond, VA and started by Lowell and Leota from Winchester, VA |

Annette & Gil (Jill x Damon) Annette and Gil graduated in September 2005 through Guiding Eyes ACTION Program. Annette works at George Mason University in VA. as an Assistive Technology Consultant, Alternative Text Formats Specialist and adjunct instructor. Every day is filled with identifying solutions to overcome barriers faced by students, staff and faculty who have disabilities. She noted that out of the University's 30,000 students 1,200 have disabilities. Annette describes Gil as a gentle giant: cuddly, energetic, with a strong, definitive pull. She feels that he has an innate ability to maintain his "cool" under any circumstance. Congratulations to Annette and Gil!

Lynnea & Henry (Nana x Evan)
Lynnea is a certified teacher of the visually impaired in the New York area. Lynnea and Henry graduated in June 2008. She describes Henry as calm, sensitive and quick to respond. Lynnea expects that he will be most valuable in helping her travel to new work locations; as she put it, "People view the blind with respect when they see them with a guide dog." Henry was finished of by Harold and Karen from Berryville, VA.

Jennifer & Hosta (Anita x 21X96) Jennifer and Hosta graduated in June 2006. Jennifer is from Russellville, Kentucky. Jennifer is attending Hazard Community College, majoring in Elementary Education. She aspires to teaching kindergarten through grade five. Addressing the matter of Hosta's personality, Jennifer says she is a good match for her new mistress. She is perky, inquisitive, fast-paced and a great lead. Jennifer looks forward to every new day here and at home, even crossing busy streets!

Joseph & King (Harlene x Gordon) Joseph from Manitoba, Canada and King graduated in July 2007. Joseph describes King as being somewhat laid back, playful, a bit stubborn, but when in harness, shows who is boss. Joseph said that "Guiding Eyes King gives him the gift of independence and future opportunities". Tony & Kylie (Waverly x Merlin) Tony and Kylie graduated on 2/23/08. He is from Illinois and father of four and grandfather of five children. Tony is a bilingual Business Management graduate of the Illinois Institute for the Visually Handicapped. He retired five years ago, and now speaks at schools and summer camps. “Kylie is a wonderful match: she is very mellow, an excellent worker and vibrates with an eagerness to please. She has already become a valuable partner in my busy life. Kylie was raised by Virginia and Jayne from Winchester, VA and started by BJ and Fred from Manassas area.

Mel & Mitch (Maria x Hancock)
Mel is from Colorado and Mitch is a wonderful canine partner - intelligent, affectionate, and a good worker. Mel knows Mitch will be most valuable to him as he travels in the city: "The dog always gets you safely where you're going! I like the confidence that gives me!" Mel and Mitch graduated in March 2008. Mitch was finished off by Kyle from the Dominion Region and started by Ed and Bea from Woodstock, VA.

Dolores & Savannah (Fedora x Norman) Dolores and Savannah graduated in June 2006. Delores is from Albany, New York. Dolores currently serves as Director of the Middle Earth Peer Assistant Program and as Staff Psychologist at the University Counseling Center in Albany. Savannah, she says, is affectionate, energetic and has been identified as a "mover and a shaker." Dolores feels that they have bonded together in an effective partnership. Because travel is an extensive part of her position, she feels that Savannah will enable her to get around with confidence.

Urwis (Gino KNGF x Punk KNGF) Aaron and Urwis graduated in August 2006. Aaron is from Ruston, Louisiana. He is a former obedience/protection dog trainer. Urwis, a Lab/Shepherd mix, is an excellent match for Aaron who, as he recognized the extraordinarily capable and intelligent dog that had become his companion and guide.
