Each year the Skyline Quilters' Guild (Strasburg, VA) stich together with love a special raffle quilt and donate the proceeds to a non profit organization. Guiding Eyes For The Blind was named as the 2008 designated charity. The raffle quilt's design is Dresden plate (stack and whack, applique). The elegant King size quilt is the handiwork of Linda Hammond and machine quilted by Loretta McDonald. Through the coming year Shenandoah Region Puppy Raisers and Guild members will offer raffle tickets for purchase at community events. Drawing for the quilt will be held on December 4 at the Guild meeting. The winner need not be present.
Our heartfelt appreciation to the Skyline Quilters Guild for their support of Guiding Eyes For the Blind Puppy Raising Program. The opportunity to reach out to the community in 2008 provides us with a means to promote our program and at the same time educate the public about guide dogs. Your support will reach far beyond 2008. Thank you for allowing us to further our mission enabling our puppies to become someone's "guiding eyes."

Pumpkins and Puppies
Homecoming events have their Kings and Queens. The Kings and Queens of Pups and their Raisers were feeling a bit photogenic at the "Puppies and Pumpkins" event recently held. The Virginia Farm Market in Winchester was the venue and the place to be on a fall Sunday afternoon. |
