Guiding Eyes for the Blind (GEB) is one of the leading guide dog schools in the United States. GEB depends on puppy raisers to provide homes and life experience training to future guide dogs. When a dog is about 18 months old, the dog travels to the GEB Training Center (Yorktown Heights, NY) for a final evaluation and to begin formal training to master the skills needed to be a guide dog.
The Shenandoah Region of GEB Puppy Raisers was formed in August 2002. We are located at the "Northern Gate of the ShenandoahValley,” extending from Martinsburg (WV) southeast to Leesburg (VA) and southwest to Winchester (VA). We are always looking for puppy raisers and puppy sitters to join our new but enthusiastic region. Individuals as well as families are encouraged to become members of the GEB "family". |
